We started the year by getting to know the new members. We all had new photos taken and wrote our pen portraits. Then we had a look around school to see what changes had happened over the summer and identify projects we could work on.

As a group, we decided to focus on sorting and classifying the reading books in the library, to make it easier and quicker for people to find a new reading book. We made a good start and will continue working on this over the next few weeks.

In November, we celebrated Anti-Bullying week. As a team, we created posters to promote this, then led a whole school assembly. Here we introduced the theme ‘Choose Respect’ and shared ways we can do this with all the other children.

We also led the whole school on Odd Socks Day!

In February, we celebrated Children’s Mental Health week. As a team, we created posters to promote this, then led a whole school assembly. 

We have also been preparing to achieve our Rights Respecting Schools Silver Award. We revisited ‘Wants and Needs.’ Then looked at the different rights on the CRC.

Linked to our Silver Award, we checked that each year group had a copy of the CRC and their own Class Charter displayed in their classroom.
