Our Eco Committee Roles (20 Members)

 

  • HATTIE - Chair-Leads the meeting and keeps discussion in order
  • NIAMH- Vice Chair-Supports the initiative led by the Chair and shares responsibilities
  • CHARLIE - Secretary -Takes minutes of the meeting
  • LIBBIE & TOBY - Paper Bin Monitors-Ensures all classroom bins are recycled weekly at the least
  • AMELIA & LYDIA - Lunch Time Waste Recyclers-Ensures food waste is emptied in to black bins and not general waste
  • JACOB & EVIE- Forest School Tidy Up Squad-Responsible for making sure Forest School is safe from litter (due to being situated near housing and roads)
  • POPPY & JASMINE - Planter Grooming Squad -water sensory plants which were planted by the Eco Committee in Summer 2021.  Pull off dead leaves and dead-head them
  • AMELIA- Lead Litter Picker 
  • LOUIE, SOPHIE, LILY-ROSE, HARRIET, ELUCHA, ESME, JACK, SAOIRSE - Litter Pickers-Use litter picking equipment at lunch times to ensure school grounds stay clear of rubbish

Content of the Day !

  • Diocese of Salford Prayer for Our Common Home.
  • The impact and carbon footprint of different foods!
  • Nature and people - cry of the earth and cry of the poor.
  • Go out in nature, in the garden and write a prayer relating to care for creation / care for our common home/our brothers and sisters.
  • Seed planting.
  • Filling the seed feeders for birds.

Rob Turner Assembly and Workshops alongside our Eco-Angels with a focus on ; 

  • Waste collection
  • Plastic and carbon footprint (including carbon footprint calculator)
  • Endangered animals
  • Deforestation and how this links to our consumerism
  • Fossil fuels and green energy
  • Making eco-bricks

Forest School - Recycling Outdoor Art Work Project

Litter Picking in our local area with Keep Bury Clean volunteers!

We are proud to be working alongside 'Duracell' to recycle batteries!

The Big Garden Birdwatch with RSPB

Look at these superstars! They used their forest skills at home to make a birdwatching area and bird stand using items from the garden! They are also trying to make a swing and a tree house using sticks.

Walk to school - sustainable travel promotion!
