The children have been busy editing their final drafts of their magnificent, mythical narratives, ensuring their written pieces include all the required literary features of a ‘myth’ and ‘legend’ πβοΈπ‘οΈπΉ. We certainly have some authors in our midsts.
SPAG - Accurately punctuating speech. π¬
year 4 excelled in punctuating speech correctly, through a combination of interactive and written tasks, the children are now confident in their punctuation placement. βοΈπ¬
Mythical meet ups with both our protagonist and antagonist. π¬π·ποΈπ‘οΈπΉ
After exploring both our protagonist and antagonist in much detail, the children morphed into their persona’s, answering key questions reflective of the Greek tragedy. We reflected on both perspectives, deducing how certain elements of the myth could have been avoided. ποΈπ‘οΈπ¬π·πΉ
Forming a prediction surrounding the infamous tale βTheseus and the Minotaurβ ποΈπΊ
Using their inference and deduction skills, year 4 formed their own detailed predictions surrounding the plot line of the infamous tale ‘Theseus and the Minotaur’. Focusing on character positioning, colours used and small parts of text, the children deliberated their answers, evidencing the front cover. πποΈπ‘οΈ
An Ancient Greek mystery π¬π·ποΈπ
Year 4 were perplexed to find the contents of Pandora’s box sprawled across our classroom. The ancient artefact unlocked secrets to our new topic ‘Myths and Legends’, in particular the infamous mythical piece ‘Theseus and the Minotaur’ποΈπΊπ¬π·π
