Our History
Guardian Angels' is a school with a long and rich history.
The school log books opened in 1887 and, along with recent Governors' minutes and reports, detail the events of everyday school life.
The school opened on its present site in 1967 to meet the growing needs of the area. In 1974 children from the Brandlesholme area were transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes' School.
We have seven bright classrooms, a Foundation Stage Unit, a large hall, the usual administration area and a Learning Zone /ICT suite equipped with a library and 30 computers. Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard and at least two computers for pupil use. Children are taught in mixed ability year groups from Nursery to Year 6.
Today, Guardian Angels' continues to thrive with all available places taken. The school has an excellent reputation locally and we are proud of all that the children achieve here.
Guardian Angels' is a welcoming school with a tremendous sense of community spirit based on our Catholic tradition. Our children go on to St Gabriel's R.C. High School with an excellent foundation and purpose in life. Many continue their education at University and go on to take leading roles in society.
For decades the parish community of Guardian Angels' has provided for the financial capital needs of Guardian Angels' School. This makes Guardian Angels' School special to its parish community with a sense of belonging.
