Computing

'...all things have been created through him and for him.'

Colossians 1:16

Every child a Technologian

As Computing experts, we want all our children to be to be ready to live and work in a constantly developing digital world and to do this as responsible, digital citizens. Technology is everywhere and will play a pivotal part in our students' lives. Therefore, we want to model and educate our pupils on how to use technology positively and safely.

Our aims are to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum for Computing. All pupils will gain key knowledge and skills in the three main areas of the computing curriculum: computer science (programming and understanding how digital systems work), information technology (using computer systems to store, retrieve and send information) and digital literacy (evaluating digital content and using technology safely and respectfully).

Computing will also provide enriched learning opportunities, in order to aid engagement and support pupil’s conceptual understanding of new concepts in many other subject areas. We also understand the wonderful opportunities technology can provide for our SEND pupils in accessing many areas of the curriculum.
