Exploring the importance of โ€˜Minibeastsโ€™ in our direct ecosystem. ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ›๐ŸฆŸ๐Ÿชฒ


Year 4 thoroughly excelled in both exploring and analysing the ways in which mini beasts impact our direct ecosystem. Through both observations and self led research, the children were able to grasp complex ecological concepts in accessible ways. The discoveries led to meaningful discussions about both food chains and the sustainability of them. ๐Ÿž๐Ÿชฒ๐ŸฆŸ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ

โ€˜Groupingโ€™ using our new found knowledge of โ€˜classificationโ€™ ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿฆ


Year 4 have excelled in classifying and categorising a variety of different animals, utilising their new found knowledge of ‘Animal classification’ ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿฆ We progressed by consolidating our understanding in a game of ‘Top-class’ification Bingo’.

Classifying animals whilst exploring what defines them as โ€˜living entitiesโ€™. ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿ


Year 4 explored the 6 different ‘classification’ of animals and their ‘species specific’ features. Using a variety of classification trees, the children were able to categorise a plethora of different animals, whilst exploring the seven defining factors of what makes them ‘living entities’. ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿž๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ†

Year 4 have throughly enjoyed exploring the workings behind electricity, from the movement of electrons to the more complex understanding behind its power and voltage. The children were fascinated to learn where and how electricity travels to our homes and enjoyed learning of its use in technological advancements. โšก๏ธ๐Ÿ’ก

 Year 4 have been busy investigating whether or not different scenarios directly impact the lightbulb in a simple circuit lighting up. The children incorporated their knowledge of both electricity formation and movement to create detailed responses that support their hypothesis. ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ”ฆ

Exploring various forms of renewable energy. โ›ฝ๏ธ๐ŸŒŽโœ…


Year 4 excelled in presenting their chosen form of renewable energy to convince a panel of energy officials to invest in their product. The children researched the benefits and fall backs of solar energy, wind energy, hydropower and geothermal energy and devised a convincing pitch in order to sell their product. ๐ŸŒŽ
