Exploring the importance of โMinibeastsโ in our direct ecosystem. ๐๐๐ฆ๐ชฒ
Year 4 thoroughly excelled in both exploring and analysing the ways in which mini beasts impact our direct ecosystem. Through both observations and self led research, the children were able to grasp complex ecological concepts in accessible ways. The discoveries led to meaningful discussions about both food chains and the sustainability of them. ๐๐ชฒ๐ฆ๐ท๏ธ
โGroupingโ using our new found knowledge of โclassificationโ ๐๐ฆ ๐ฆ
Year 4 have excelled in classifying and categorising a variety of different animals, utilising their new found knowledge of ‘Animal classification’ ๐๐ฆ
๐ฆ We progressed by consolidating our understanding in a game of ‘Top-class’ification Bingo’.
Classifying animals whilst exploring what defines them as โliving entitiesโ. ๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐
Year 4 explored the 6 different ‘classification’ of animals and their ‘species specific’ features. Using a variety of classification trees, the children were able to categorise a plethora of different animals, whilst exploring the seven defining factors of what makes them ‘living entities’. ๐๐๐๐๐

Year 4 have been busy investigating whether or not different scenarios directly impact the lightbulb in a simple circuit lighting up. The children incorporated their knowledge of both electricity formation and movement to create detailed responses that support their hypothesis. ๐ก๐ฆ
Exploring various forms of renewable energy. โฝ๏ธ๐โ
Year 4 excelled in presenting their chosen form of renewable energy to convince a panel of energy officials to invest in their product. The children researched the benefits and fall backs of solar energy, wind energy, hydropower and geothermal energy and devised a convincing pitch in order to sell their product. ๐
