_{Year 4 placed their newly found knowledge of ‘ostinato patterns’, as well as ‘legato’ and ‘staccato’ melodies, to create a repeated tune. The children explored the pentatonic scale, in order to create a ‘catchy’ tune in varying different musical textures. 🎶📝}

^{Year 4 listened and appraised a number of popular Melodies, all in which contain an ‘ostinato’ pattern within them. The children retrieved and recorded key elements in the form of a mind map, including key musical terminology, instruments heard and emotions evoked. Such musical study will aid the children in creating their own ostinato piece, influenced by ‘river sounds’. 💦🌊✨}
