School Games - Platinum Mark

This is the highest level of recognition in the UK's School Games, Sports Programme.

It celebrates schools that go above and beyond in promoting sport, physical activity and competition which means the school is one of the best in the country at getting students active, involved and inspired through sport.

The award recognises schools that:

  • Provide a wide range of sports and physical activities

  • Encourage high participation

  • Support competitive opportunities (intra and inter school)

  • Promote inclusion, leadership, and personal development

  • Embed sport into the whole school culture

  • It’s not a first-time award-schools must have achieved Gold for multiple years first.

  • It shows long-term commitment and consistency, not just a one-off good year.

Eco-Mark with Distinction

This is special recognition given within the Eco-Schools programme.

It highlights schools that go beyond the standard Green Flag award in their environmental work; it exceeds expectations and demonstrates innovation, depth, and long-term impact.

Schools that achieve Green Flag with Distinction have:

  • Delivered an exceptional environmental programme.

  • Shown outstanding pupil leadership (pupils driving projects.)

  • Made a measurable impact (e.g. reducing waste, energy use, improving biodiversity.)

  • Embedded sustainability across the whole school culture, not just one project.

Healthy Schools Mark

This award is given to schools that show a strong commitment to supporting pupils’ health, wellbeing, and personal development

A school with the Healthy Schools Mark demonstrates that it promotes a whole school and community commitment to:

  • Physical health – healthy eating, regular physical activity

  • Mental wellbeing – emotional support, resilience, anti-bullying

  • Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education

  • Healthy lifestyles – awareness of issues like smoking, alcohol and online safety

Arts Mark Gold

This quality mark is run by Arts Council England and is given to primary schools to recognise a high level of commitment to arts education and how deeply the arts are embedded in school life.

We have shown that subjects like art, music, drama, and dance aren’t just occasional activities...they’re well-planned, regularly taught, and valued alongside core subjects.

We have demonstrated a whole school commitment to the 'extras' via clubs, performances, and exhibitions which involve all pupils.  We also ensure the arts are integrated across the curriculum.

We recognised the impact the arts has on our pupils including;

  • Building confidence and creativity

  • Improve communication and teamwork

  • Engage more deeply with learning overall

We collaborate and work in partnership with artists and creative professionals as well as local cultural organisations (like theatres or galleries) and demonstrate that the arts exist beyond the classroom.

Linguamarque - Silver

The award is part of the Association for Language Learning’s Primary Languages Quality Mark which encourages strong language teaching in schools.

The award recognises that we offer a planned and consistent languages curriculum with regular lessons for all pupils and clear progression.

It is a whole school approach; staff skills and confidence have developed as well a curriculum links, assemblies, themed days.

Our pupils are;

  • Building basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills

  • Gaining confidence in using another language

  • Developing cultural awareness
