Homework Information
Spellings
Year 4 spellings are set on Spelling Shed each half term following a 6 or 7 set cycle, coving all spelling rules for children in lower KS2. Each Friday, the children will complete a spelling dictation which contextualises the spelling words set, testing both their knowledge on 'spelling rules' and 'word definition'. Please ensure children your child is accessing spelling shed to practise their spellings, which will be checked weekly.
Timestables
Year 4 will be set a series of both multiplication and division questions in the format of a booklet which will include prior timestable knowledge from Year 3, alongside new mathematical knowledge explored in class. This booklet will be collected weekly on a Friday, prior to the children accessing the official timestable check, later in the term.
Reading
Year 4 are required to read as frequently as possible, to aid both their comprehension and writing skills. Although we aim to read with each child everyday, the more exposure they have to reading aloud is paramount for their continued development. Please ensure your child's reading record is signed 3 times a week.
