Up-Cycling Garment Competition
Trashion garments must be clearly labelled with the school and makers names and handed in on arrival.
The Up-cycled garment judging will be based on the following criteria.
- Use of materials and the appropriateness of the chosen recycled materials to the design. Judges will score each garment looking to see to what extent recycled materials have been used.
- Range and quality of skills used to construct the garment- stitching, gluing, plaiting, pleating, crimping etc.
- Style - Whether or not the ensemble is visually appealing.
- Originality- creativity in the usage of the materials, and the originality of the design.
- Form and function. The judges will look at each outfit to see how well it is constructed, and how well it stays together and moves with the model on the catwalk. (The models should not have to accommodate the piece; the piece should accommodate the model.)
