Cross Country
Some of the children in Year 6 will be taking part in an inter-school cross country relay event on Tuesday 6th October at The Derby High School. The children involved will be notified individually by letter. Come along and give them your support.
Poorly children
If your child is feeling unwell, please do not send them into school. At this time of year there are lots of tummy bugs, coughs and colds etc around and we want to limit the spread of any germs.
We need your views!
If you have any thoughts about what the school does well or ideas to help us move forward then please come along, then come along to the meeting on Monday 5th October at 7.00 pm in the school hall or in the staff room depending on numbers. You are all very welcome. The meeting will be followed by the AGM for the Friends of Guardian Angels’ Primary School – FGAPS (PTA). This will be at 8.00 pm in school.
Feast of Guardian Angels
This is on Friday 2nd October. To celebrate this day, we are having ‘own clothes day’. Children should bring in £1.00 to take part. The monies donated will be sent to The Good Life Orphanage and CAFOD.
Francis House Children’s Hospice Appeal
Year 6 pupils will be going into classrooms selling friendship bracelets and fancy key rings to raise money for the Hospice appeal. There is a suggested minimum donation of £1.00. Please help us to raise lots of money for this wonderful facility.
School photographs
These will be in the hall on Tuesday 6th October from 8.45 am. Parents are asked to make sure that they return their slips to the class teacher otherwise photographs will not be taken.
Lost any glasses?
We still have one pair of glasses that remain unclaimed. These are the adult pair in a Specsaver box. Please contact the office for more information.
Security of bikes in school
If your child rides a bike to school and keeps it on school premises throughout the day, please make sure that they have a security chain so that it can be fixed to the railings. Also could you please ensure that your child wears a cycle helmet. This can be kept safely in the classroom.
Westbury Sports FC – Under 6 squad
Children in Year 1 are invited to join the new Under 6 squad that trains in the sports hall at Elton High School on Mondays from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm. More information is available from the office.
Bury Music Service
We have been asked to let parents know that Bury Music Service still has places available for anyone wishing to play flute, clarinet or saxophone. More information is available from the school office.
Bury FC holiday clubs
Information is available in the office about two holiday clubs being organised by Bury Football Club over half-term. One is a soccer school and the other is a Halloween Camp. |
